First: what is professional coaching?

Basically, coaching is a partnership between a customer and a coach.The customer must have a goal to reach and the coach,by his listening,by his questioning,by suggesting practical exercises and reflection will help the customer achieve this goal.

The customer is wholly responsible of the realization of his objective and of the achievment of this objective.As for the coach he's/she's the guide who helps focussing on the objective to see the range of options and to make sure to take note of all the context surrounding it.Someone trying to do this proceeding alone might forget certain aspects or not see some of them.

On the day of a meeting,it's the customer who will speak and the coach will be there to make him/her speak to open him/her to awareness and to apprenticeship.Coaching takes place within a short time span.Each customer will have his/her own agenda depending where he/she is in his/her development.Therefore the coach adapts himself/herself to the situation of each customer regarding the evolution of the project of the customer.This way,it might not be necessary to continue the coaching until the achievment of the objective.A person might need a guide only to progress whereas another must be able to go to the end.The coach must be able to put the emphasis on the reach of objectives, be able to develop strategies to get there,be able to open doors that sometimes remain closed within ourselves and prevent us from going further.The customer will then have in hand all the necessary tools to accomplish his/her mission.

It is our duty to add that this proceeding is completely confidential.Besides coaching is everywhere in every day life,through reflections,work,exercises,specific readings....It's not necessarily done in an office.

Therefore we can say that coaching is a process of life to establish with each customer and the coach is there to see to the good evolution of the progress.
